A great day out full of all sorts of vintage apparel sellers, entertainment, pin up competitions, high teas, workshops and loads and loads of fun!
When you want the real thing. The Vintage Textile Fair is 'THE' place to be for authentic vintage apparel, jewellery, and all things textile.
In May on Saturday afternoons 1pm -3pm (2 hr sessions). 14th, 21st, 28th.
Bring your tired/ battered vintage hat and I'll demonstrate some easy tricks to revitalise and upcycle your treasure! trims and old hats available to purchase or bring your own bits n bobs. Its a hands on workshop and we'll aim to have your hat happy by the end of the session. min 2 people, max 4 per workshop. $40 per person. Bookings essential.

Found a hat that needs some love and attention? Basic re-blocking/ shaping and trimming techniques are on offer in these relaxed fun workshops. Bring along your vintage felt hat and trims (if you have something specific you want to use) and together we will give it a new lease of life. Vintage hats and trims are available if you don't have your own. (prices vary).
Workshops are for 2 hrs - 1pm to 3pm

This workshop is about learning how to utilise your sewing machine to its fullest potential. Being 'one' with your machine will make any tricky sewing job much easier to tackle. we will learn how to clean and maintain your machine and make samplers of all the stitches and finishes that an average domestic sewing is capable of doing. ie: zippers, buttonholes, hemline finishes, french seaming etc. I will also demonstrate a few industry tricks that have saved me precious time over the years. sessions are held in Clevedon Costumes and Vintage Apparels' workroom. 20 Clevedon-Papakura Rd, Clevedon. contact is 292 3035. bookings essential.

A chance to share your work, get advice, pat each other on the back for a job well done or to show off your latest prized vintage finds! Bring along a tea pot/ cup or jar with a lid to turn into a novel sewing kit, like the ones pictured. I'll have plenty of vintage fabric remnants, linen and trims to choose from, wadding, glue etc etc. $20 each 2 hr session includes all bits n bobs and afternoon tea. min 4 people. bookings essential.
